Here we interview Ash Damle, CEO of MEDgle, which is:

... an online information and educational service. With the thousands of articles and sites available, finding relavent medical information is difficult. MEDgle's goal is to make medical information easily and intuitively accessible for the benefit and betterment of everybody. Simply: search, learn, and thrive.

1.What was the impetus to start MEDgle?

ANSWER: Most consumers find healthcare to be a bewildering experience. They feel they lack the knowledge to ask appropriate questions and get relevant answers. Even though 80% of internet users search health related topics no tool is currently available that is easy to use, and provides a list of reasonable options that can empower consumers to increase the value of their discussions with their physician. MEDgle was conceived to provide the consumer with clarity of options, to enable an equal and fruitful discussion between physicians and patients with the results of the symptoms search being the starting point for such a discussion.

2. What special IP or methodology is behind MEDgle, especially results rankings, red stars et al?

ANSWER: MEDgle is powered by its unique extensive physician inputed and reviewed expert system cross connecting 7,000 symptoms, 2,000 diagnoses, ages, gender, lifestyle and more. This expert system is a combination of over 9GB of cross connected data and domain specific algorithms. In addition, MEDgle can leverage this expert system in conjunction with our automated medical semantic analysis to also give much improved web search result.

3. What firms do you see as your primary competitors in eHealth?

ANSWER: There are many players in the field such as WebMD, MayoClinic, and more. We feel that our approach, and value proposition is significantly different for the end consumer and health care providers, that we can work synergistically with current market leaders.

4. How will you monetize MEDgle?

ANSWER: MEDgle helps the user identify his needs and current medical options. Subsequently, MEDgle provides a highly targeted and primed audience for healthcare providers, services, and products.

5. When will MEDgle be out of beta, and what will we see coming re: the product and site syndication/distribution?

ANSWER: We will be out of beta once we have completed the loop beginning with symptom search, proceeding to expand consumer knowledge on potential diagnoses, initiating the health care discussion with providers and linking the consumer to providers, services and products. We hope to accomplish this by October of this year.
