Practice Fusion v 2.0 is Here

San Francisco-based Practice Fusion has released the 2.0 version of their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) suite. The new offering makes good use of Adobe's Flash technology.

They're also the first EMR vendor to support the Google Chrome, Apple/Mac Safari 3, Mozilla Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8 Browsers. PF is being used in 45 states, by nearly 2,000 users and represents one of the fastest growing EMR communities in the U.S.

PF's new EMR 2.0 includes features for patient demographic, diagnosis and medication management, vital gathering, SOAP note creation, along with integrated video-based training.

Launched in October 2007, PF is the first EMR to be offered completely free and web-based. Many docs were burned by EMR I, where turnkey software systems were found to be very expensive, overly complex and painfully difficult to integrate into their traditional workflows. Now EMR II is all about SaaS, and radically lower price points-- even free-- are being mapped by a new set of bold vendors like Practice Fusion.
